THIRUKOVILUR

Sri Thiruvikrama swamine namaha:
 
Mirugandu maharishi(son of Markendeya maharishi) meditated Lord Krishna in the place called Krishnapuri near Krishnabatra river(now thenpannai river),as advised by Brahma. Lord Krishna is prathyaksham(gave dharshan) to Mirugandu as Thiruvikrama stance with one foot on the earth and the other foot raising to the sky to keep the foot on the universe. The place is called now the Thirukovilur.
This kehstaram is famous for the incidental meeting of first three aazhwars viz., Poigaiayar,Boodhathaar and Peyaar in a small cave at one night.It was told that these three aalzhwars has sung their first prbandham verses together to have the dharshan of the preumal.
Perumal dharshan with his lotus foot replicating the incidence of bagavan raising his right foot to measure the world and .Mirugandu statue worshiping perumal is still can be seen in this temple.
The uniqueness of his glorious dharshan in this temple is ,perumal holding the chakra  in his left hand and sanguin his right hand.

Prathakshanam:- Mahablai Chakravarthi,Mirugandu ,Brahma, Indira, Poigai Aazhwar, Boodhathaazhwar and Peyaazhwar.

Mangala sasanam:-Poigai Aazhwar, Boodhathaazhwar and Peyaazhwar.

Reach to this temple:-
From Chennai went to Villupuram by bus and from there catche another bus to ThiruKovilur.
