The temple icon is formed naturally from a saligarama (black smooth round stone) and is also called 'Yagna Varahan'. The pushkarani(pond) is holy in the sense it wipes of the sins of humans. Also it is believed that the childless couple can have blessings of Lord sri varaha, taking holy dip at the pushkarani and worship the Lord.
